Research & Strategy
Study your competitors and plot their demise
During the research phase we learn more about your goals.
The information that we gather during this stage will guide
us throughout the entire project. We will analyze the websites
of your competitors to better understand their search engine
positioning, strengths and weaknesses. Then we will incorporate
our ideas and strategies into the actual website design and
programming.
Design
Creating pretty pictures and other fun stuff
Once we have a clear understanding of the direction to take,
we begin the design process. During this time our customers
are also busy assembling any information they have for the
website, writing additional content or talking to one of our
staff writers/editors if we are creating all of the marketing
materials. Our programmers will also begin taking the raw
data feeds that you provide and turning them into applications
and online databases. We will create Photoshop mockups of
what key areas of the new website will look like, different
design ideas and styles. These designs are then dissected
and revised until they meet the customer's approval. It is
only with an approved design that we move on to the website
development phase of the project.
Development
Full steam ahead
Once development starts all of the pieces of a successful
website start to come together. We take the Photoshop designs
that have been agonized over and slice and dice them into
living, breathing website pages. Site maps are created and
the begriming steps to a search engine optimized website are
taken. By this time, we should have all of the information
we'll need from you, and all deadline pressures are now squarely
on us. Don't worry - we like it that way. Your project contact
who has been working with you throughout the entire project,
is now furiously working to tie all of the information from
our departments together into one cohesive website.
Testing & Review
The light at the end of the tunnel
We're almost there now. What started off as a dream and
a twinkle in a designer's eye has now become a full fledge
website. At this point the site is being hosted on a development
server, letting you see the progress and test the results,
while keeping everyone else's prying eyes away. We will then
run a battery of website search engine optimization tests,
link checking, application checking and other last minute
polishing. Once it passes through our quality assurance department
and meets your approval, the site is ready to launch.
Launch
3 - 2 - 1 Liftoff
With your approval, the site is now unleashed on the
world. It is transitioned from a development account to a
shared or dedicated hosting environment. At this point we
provide all of the instruction and training that you will
need to maintain your website as well as FTP access to the
site.
Promotion
We built it, now let them come
Now that the website is up and available to the world,
we begin the process of submitting it to the various search
engines and directories. Depending on the project's promotion
budget we will also perform targeted keyword buys on Overture
and Google to provide your site with instant traffic, as the
natural search engine results begin to come on line. This
lessens the wait between when a new website is launched and
traffic begins to flow to it. If this project was a website
redesign, then traffic will flow even faster as search engines
discover your newly optimized content.
Continual Improvement
It's great, now how can it be even better
Depending on the type of website design project, your site
may need continual, monthly or quarterly updates. These content
changes can be performed by your staff or by us. In addition
to content updates, your site will be continually monitored
for optimal search engine placement and adapted as search
engines adapt over time.
